Self-host or use Mailat Cloud

Choose who operates the application while retaining your own domains and AWS SES account.

Free software, your infrastructure#

Mailat on GitHub is open source under the MIT license. You can inspect, modify and self-host the application without a Mailat software subscription. Your servers, storage, DNS and AWS usage can still incur charges.

Use the repository's deployment instructions for the release you choose. Provide the required PostgreSQL/Redis services, application secrets and AWS configuration, set up HTTPS and persistent storage, and plan backups and upgrades before exposing the instance.

Keep secrets out of Git and public Docker configuration. Pin release images instead of blindly following mutable tags. Back up data and record the running image versions before an upgrade; an application rollback is not automatically a database rollback.

Managed cloud deployment#

Mailat.co offers paid hosting of the Mailat application, deployment management and support. Connect your own AWS account and verify the domains you control. AWS usage and sending limits apply separately from the hosting plan.

The cloud flow is: choose a plan, sign in, confirm the membership, validate AWS and domain prerequisites, then start deployment from the dashboard. “One-click deploy” describes starting that prepared deployment, not skipping verification or DNS work.

New managed setup is currently paused. Existing account and support pages remain available. Review the current availability on the pricing page and dashboard; this documentation does not enable provisioning or guarantee completion time.

Sending versus receiving#

Use sending-only setup if your domain already receives through another provider. SES verification and a dedicated MAIL FROM subdomain do not require replacing your root inbox MX records. Receiving is an explicit additional configuration.

Preserve an existing valid DMARC policy instead of adding a second record. Review DNS and authentication requirements in Domains & DNS. Then start with API authentication or use the Mailat inbox interface.
